Client Testimonial

My daughter is a bright, beautiful, fun-loving,

talented honor roll student. In 2003, she almost died of anorexia. In September of that year, she was about 5 feet tall and weighed 105 pounds. By December she had dropped to 74 pounds as a result of anorexia. I took her to see our pediatrician and while under his care she continued to lose weight, dropping to a dangerously low 69 pounds.

At that time, we decided to place her in a mental health facility. Even though we hated doing it, in desperation, we had no other options. Unbelievably our daughter continued to lose weight. In her first week there, she dropped to 63 pounds and was near death. Finally she did start gaining weight and after regaining 16 pounds was released from the facility. However, she had a long way to go physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically.

We felt so blessed to begin the outpatient treatment
with the team at the Kentucky Center for Eating and
Weight Disorders (KCEWD). They did an excellent
job of getting to the root of the problem and dealing
with all the issues that surround anorexia.

My daughter is now back to a very healthy 110 pounds and is eating and functioning like a normal teenager. I truly believe that due to the outstanding programs at KCEWD she has been able to conquer anorexia. I would recommend KCEWD to anyone with eating issues. This exceptional clinic will surely meet a great need in our community.
